PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association)

PASMA

PASMA is an organisation committed to the safe use of mobile access towers, through provision of work at height training.

PASMA provides safe, efficient access and equipping operatives with the necessary information and training to allow them to use mobile access towers safely and productively.

The aims and objectives of the PASMA Standard Course are to ensure that operatives can demonstrate that they are competent to assemble, dismantle, alter, move, inspect and use mobile access towers without risk of personal injury, or anyone who may be affected by their work.

PASMA Training also intends to give an understanding of the legal issues affecting work at height with mobile access towers, the relevant product standards which relate to the equipment, and a thorough knowledge of the hazards affecting the use of mobile access towers.

PASMA and the HSE have endorsed TWO approved methods of tower assembly – The Turner Advance Guardrail method and the 3T (Through the Trap) method.

All Employers of personnel requiring training in the safe use of tower assembly must consider Manufacturer approved Advance Guardrail training, in full compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and HSE guidance.

At Turner Access we provide this type of “Collective Protection” Training and also offer “Advanced” Tower Training Courses.

PASMA Certificate of Competence
On successful completion of a PASMA standard training course (or PASMA low level
access course) with Turner Access, delegates receive a Certificate of Competence and ID card which are recognised by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and valid for five years.

PASMA Courses generally commence at 8.45am and finish around 4.00pm. Before lunch, courses cover the relevant theory supported by video and other visual presentation aids. The afternoon is a practical session.

PASMA Courses provided by Turner Access cover BOTH 3T and Advance Guardrail. Advance Guardrail Training utilises the BetaGuard® Integral Advance Guardrail System.
