Turner Access would like to congratulate Scaffolder Andrew Cuddihy on being named “Modern Apprentice of the Year 2012”.
Andrew beat 150 other worthy candidates to claim the award which recognises outstanding effort and achievement by apprentices throughout Scotland.
During his apprenticeship, Andrew showed professionalism and enthusiasm which caught the eye of judges and has since earned him a permanent position at Turner Access.
Andrew, 19, from Bishopbriggs, says he is delighted and surprised with his award.
He said: “It was a shock to win and I’m very chuffed with it.
“It's great to be taken on full-time, I'm really enjoying the work I'm doing."
Andrew was part of a group of four modern apprentices take on by Turner Access as part of the Tigers Modern Apprenticeship scheme in association with Carillion. All four modern apprentices have now secured permanent positions with the company.
Ian Henderson, Business Development Manager for Turner Access, said: “We're proud to have Andrew on board full-time and this award is testament to his positive attitude and willingness to learn.
“All of the apprentices we have employed have earned their positions through hard work and diligence and we’re pleased our partnership with Tigers continues to provide training and employment opportunities for young people.”
Jim Johnstone, Employer Engagement Manager for Tigers, said: “The greatest endorsement for an apprentice is being employed by a company.
“It is a credit to Andrew that Turner Access has now offered him a full-time position and he has shown great professionalism during his apprenticeship.”
